An entry-level shared hosting plan is usually enough for one Arabic blog, a small company's profile site or a personal portfolio, provided you compress your images and take your own backups. It is not enough for a busy online store or for more than one site. Rather than calling the plan "cheap" and leaving it there, this article works out what it actually holds, using the figures published on the plan page.
What the Personal plan includes, according to the plan page
According to EngHosting's shared hosting page, the Personal plan includes one website, 5 GB of storage, 50 GB of monthly bandwidth, five email accounts, a free SSL certificate, cPanel, PHP, MySQL and WordPress support, and Arabic technical support. The current price is shown on the same page.
Two things are not listed on this plan: the free daily backup starts with the Economy plan, and CloudLinux, Imunify360 and LiteSpeed start with the Advanced plan. Knowing what a plan leaves out matters as much as knowing what it includes.
How far do 5 GB go for an Arabic site?
Text barely registers: hundreds of Arabic articles add up to a few megabytes in the database. WordPress core plus a theme and a handful of plugins takes up no more than a few hundred megabytes. The real consumers of space are images, then email, then forgotten backup files left inside the account.
- Images: a compressed WebP photo might be 150 to 250 KB. WordPress, however, generates several resized copies of every upload, so budget two to three times the original size. On that basis, a thousand images take roughly half a gigabyte.
- Email: in cPanel, mailboxes normally count against the same disk quota, so five inboxes holding years of attachments can outgrow the website itself.
- Backups inside the account: a full backup archive left in your home directory doubles your usage; download it, then delete it.
How far do 50 GB of monthly bandwidth go?
Bandwidth is the total data the server sends to visitors. If a page weighs 1.5 MB on a first visit, 50 GB covers about 33,000 page views a month at that full weight, and considerably more with returning visitors, whose browsers keep the fonts and images cached. Treat this as a rough estimate: search engine crawlers and bots use a share too, so watch the real figure in cPanel during your first month.
Arabic sites have one specific heavy item: fonts. An Arabic font loaded in four weights can add hundreds of kilobytes for every new visitor. Sticking to two weights in WOFF2 saves bandwidth and speeds up the page at the same time; our guide to the technical needs of Arabic websites covers the details.
Personal vs Economy at a glance
| Item | Personal | Economy |
|---|---|---|
| Websites | 1 | 2 |
| Storage | 5 GB | 10 GB |
| Monthly bandwidth | 50 GB | 100 GB |
| Email accounts | 5 | 10 |
| Free daily backup | Not listed | Listed |
Figures are from the plan cards on the shared hosting page. If your site runs on WordPress, there are also separate WordPress hosting plans, which the plan page lists with one-click WordPress installation.
What stays your job on the smallest plan
EngHosting's acceptable use policy makes customers responsible for taking regular backups of their data, especially if they are not subscribed to a backup plan, and the free daily backup is not listed on the Personal plan. A simple routine covers it: a copy of the database and files before every major update, plus a weekly copy downloaded to your computer or external storage. The steps are in our cPanel backup and restore guide.
Saving money without losing the essentials
- Pick a lightweight theme with proper Arabic and right-to-left support instead of a heavy page builder.
- Compress images before uploading and convert them to WebP.
- Turn on a page caching plugin and delete plugins you do not use.
- Do not give up SSL, which the plan already includes, or backups, which are on you.
Signs the smallest plan is no longer enough
- You want to launch a second site, or need more than five mailboxes.
- Storage or bandwidth use has passed 80% for two months in a row.
- Losing a day of data would now be costly, so daily backups have become a necessity.
- You have started selling or receiving many forms and orders, and want the LiteSpeed performance and Imunify360 protection listed from the Advanced plan.
- The site slows down or throws errors at peak times despite caching and image compression; at that point read the signs you have outgrown shared hosting.
Before comparing cheap offers in general, read about the hidden costs of hosting, such as renewals, domains and add-ons; the first price is rarely the full cost.
